Colette McLogan: Yoga Therapist at Yoga Therapy of Michigan
return to Meet the Therapists page
Colette R.
McLogan is a registered nurse and experienced yoga teacher
with a Bachelor’s Degree in Science and Nursing from
Northern Michigan University, specializing in adult general
and critical care for more than two decades. Colette began
integrating yoga into her life while healing from cancer
surgery. Upon the completion of her first yoga practice she
had a profound realization that yoga held the key to
self-healing. Although nursing training taught her that
proper healing occurs with the integration of body, mind and
spirit, it was through regular yoga practice that she
actually experienced it! Colette integrates the teachings of
yoga, Ayurveda and meditation in her nursing practice and
brings her nursing practice into her work as a yoga
therapist.
Colette began her Yoga teacher training in 1998, receiving certification and mentorship through Jonny Kest at The Center for Yoga in Michigan. She continued her education at the Ayurveda Institute in New Mexico, directed by Dr.Vasant Lad, receiving her Ayur-Yoga Therapy Certification. She advanced her studies and practice in Ayurveda through a mentorship with Dr. Paul Duglis MD in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Colette deepened her commitment to self-realization through the experience of several 10-day Vipassana mediation “sits” and has taught thousands of hours in classes and workshops both locally and internationally, earning the designation E-RYT (experience yoga teacher) and 500-level certification through Yoga Alliance. Colette co-founded Yoga Therapy of Michigan as a means to bring the healing essence of yoga, Ayurveda and meditation to all who seek these truths.
