Suzanna
Ran E-RYT 500, co-founder of Yoga Therapy of Michigan, is a
yoga therapist with three decades experience teaching
health, fitness, and yoga classes to people of all ages and
abilities. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan,
School of Education and has taught at universities,
corporations, hospitals, community centers and sports clubs
in the United States, England and Israel. She was introduced
to yoga at age 12. Her first teacher was the late Sally
Rosen one of the very first yoga teachers in Michigan.
Suzanna received her RYT-200 through Jonny Kest Center for Yoga in West Bloomfield, Michigan; her Radiant Child Level 1 and 11 Certification through Shakt Kaur Kalsa in Colombia Maryland; and her RYT 500 - Yoga Therapy Certification from Ananda Seva Mission in Santa Rosa, California; She also earned certification in Yoga of the Heart® - the yoga therapy program devised by Nischala Devi and integral to Dr. Dean Ornish’s landmark program for Reversing Heart Disease. Suzanna also studied with Amy Weintraub and is a Level 1 LifeForce Yoga Practitioner for Anxiety and Depression.
Other yoga scholars she has studied with include Mukunda Stiles, founder of Structural Yoga Therapy, Dr. Saraswati Buhrman, founder of the Rocky Mountain Institute for Yoga and Ayurveda and the National Ayurvedic Medical Association, and Ananda Deviika’ Ma, co-founder of Ananda Seva Mission. She has also taken workshops with Alan Finger, Berryl Bender Birch, Seane Corn, Scott Blossom, Garmuk Kaur Kalsha, Ravi Singh, Todd Norian, Kali Ray, Rama Birch, Saul David Ray, Duncan Wong, Eddie Modestini, Nicki Doane and Lilias Folan. She credits all her teachers with inspiring her to become a yoga teacher and yoga therapist and establish Yoga Therapy of Michigan to assist others on their path to self healing and self fulfillment.
