200 Hour Ayur-Yoga Teacher Training

Take your yoga passion to the next level. Train with Suzanna Ran E-RYT
500 and U of M Kinesiology graduate to become a registered yoga teacher
(RYT200). Learn the fundamentals of Ayurveda and Yoga for your own wellbeing
as well as the opportunity to pass this knowledge onto others. This 200-
hour course is spread over 10 weekends during the fall and winter semesters.
(Non-football weekends). Challenge yourself and watch yourself transform!
Upon completion of all requirements you may register with Yoga Alliance.

Fall Semester 2012:
Ashtanga Yoga and the Yoga Sutras (100 hours taught over five weekends)
September 21 – 23

- Ashtanga Primary Series – 74 different
postures systematically linked together through breath and
movement that promote the integration of body, mind and spirit.
- Pranayama – Learn three breath practices
that are integral to Ashtanga and their effect on the physical,
subtle and causal bodies.
- The Yoga Sutras – Study the aphorisms that
elucidate the path to liberation through control of the mind.
- Anatomy and Alignment – Understand the
intention, biomechanics and energetics of each posture.
- Cuing and Adjustments – Learn the cues and
adjustments that safely guide practitioners in and out of
postures using both Sanskrit and English.
- Meditation – Learn simple techniques to
quiet the mind.
Winter Semester 2013:
Ayurveda and Yoga – Vitality and Resilience (100 hours taught over
five weekends)

- Yoga and Ayurveda – Study the history,
philosophy, theory and practice of yoga and Ayurveda and how
they form a natural system for healing and rejuvenation.
- Dosha Balancing Vinyasa Flows – Learn
asana, mantras, mudras and meditations to balance the physical,
emotional, mental, intellectual and spiritual sheaths.
- Pranayama – Learn five breath practices
that can be utilized for specific purposes such as anxiety,
fear, inflammation, congestion and consciousness/meditation.
- Yoga Nidra – Learn a technique that helps
to restore calm to the body mind and spirit.
