Yoga Therapy of Michigan Practices
Abhyasa
(practice) is necessary for self-healing. Applying yoga
therapy practices is the foundation to attain physical,
emotional, mental and spiritual well-being. Yoga Therapy of
Michigan provides individual guidance in ahara
(diet), shat karmas (cleansing techniques), asana
(yoga postures), yoga nidra (guided
relaxation), pranayama (breathing techniques),
dhyana (meditation), mantra (vibrational sounds),
mudra (hand gestures), abyanga (self massage) and
rasayana (herbal formulas) specific to your dosha
(individual constitution).
“Chatvara-Abhyasa” (4 practices)
These four 1-hour private sessions are facilitated by a
certified yoga therapist in the facility. During these
sessions you will be guided through your prescribed yoga
therapy practice and given adjustments and recommendations
for integrating specific yoga therapy practices into your
lifestyle.
“Shal-Abhyasa" (Home Practice)
The purpose of this 1-hour private session with a certified
yoga therapist is to assist you in establishing and
maintaining a home practice based upon your individual goals
and needs. During this session you will be taught regimens
that you can take home and practice. Periodic re-assessments
are recommended to maintain the continuum of self-healing.
This session can also be used as a private session for any
therapy including dietary counseling, asana practice, breath
practice, deep relaxation, meditation, etc.
